Vanillaware creates an absolutely gorgeous, 2D action RPG based on the frame of their Sega Saturn cult hit Princess Crown. The story is told from 5 different viewpoints, which are of course playable characters. Many of the stages and bosses are fought mutliple times, but the characters play so differently it's not as repetitive as one would think. Some of the enemies take up half of the screen, and are comprised of many seperate sprites giving them an extremely lifelike feel. There's quite a bit to do, taking a total of about 35 hours to complete. If the final stage is done in a specific order, you'll get the "good ending" with a staff roll. The one downside to the NTSC-J version is that the majority of the dialogue is in old Japanese, making it somewhat cryptic.
