Sigma AV7000 RGB output - no sync

Postby Magic Knight » Sun Feb 05, 2012 6:20 am

I was making a new RGB cable for my AV7000 today, and in checking the pinout of the machine I must have short-circuited something or done something else weird, but basically I now don't get a synched picture on my monitor from the RGB output.

The cables are fine, the monitors are fine and the games are fine, I've checked them all on a Raijin and that outputs as normal.

The S-Video output from the AV7000 is also fine, I get a perfect picture on a normal television.

Has anyone seen this before or know how to fix it? It looks like I'll have to send it away for repair, though I'm not sure to whom I should send it - should I ask MAK or Sigma themselves?

I also made an adaptor for my ST so I can use MSX joysticks on it today, so at least I have that to play around with.

I would ask Mak. Something tell me it won't be cheap though. :(

Yeah I just asked MAK now, they said to ask Sigma. Sigma have changed their loaction and number, by the time MAK called me back with it they were closed, so I'll try again tomorrow.

Maybe I'll just get a new one and sell this to someone who'll never need RGB output. I think I'll use your old Raijin in the meantime, just switch 1P and 2P sticks since 1P is the rotary one.

Can't play on the 2P side? I couldn't either. ;)

Most of my games don't allow two players anyway as far as I can tell. I decided to delay switching the joysticks for the moment, to enjoy the glory of Midnight Resistance for a while.
