I should play Rockman X3 and X4 in the spirit of 32-bit platformers. All of those Rockmans just seem the same though.

Still playing Futari: Black Label for the most part. I will soon put it up for a while and give something else a go. Definitely something non-shooter and console.

Hey, GP
yes those Rockman's are the same usual stuff, but they are the last good Rockman X good games...absolutely avoid the X series past chapter 5!
If you are into portables try the Zero series..or the RockmanRockman PSP..

Not really into portables. I do like play GBA games in emulation though (w/ a proper controller). For my GBA, I'm pretty much puzzle games or RPG/Simulation when I'm on the road.

Yeah, GBA emulation is nice. Have you ever tried Samurai Kid for Gameboy Color? It's a pretty sweet platform/puzzler. Very high quality for the GBC, especially the fluid animation.

;) Ninja Action Kaze Kiri. It's kinda tough using a keyboard while the Duo is in the shop.

Bought it from Gaijin Punch, and this good of a game I feel like I ripped him off.

Yeah, I like KK. Some people think it's too repetitive (probably true) but it's very pretty.

Playing Nights (PS2) now, and Shikigami no Shiro II (DC). Need to clear this so I can put it away and probably never touch it again. :)

Lunar: Eternal Blue (US Sega CD)
Ehhh...I'm not really into it. Levelling up is way way way more tedious than any other RPG I've ever played.

Robo Aleste (US Sega CD)
Not bad. Since I'm not into any other shooters at the moment, this will do.

And then various Genesis carts, but none with any seriousness.

Anyway, hi.

As much as I hate to admit this, I am playing Parappa 2 on US PS2. If I wasn't saving up for a trip, I would be trying to get my hands on a copy of Fausette Amour and Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou.

The Saturn/PS1 Version is much easier and also better in terms of presentation. If you can arrange to play that one I think you'd have a lot more fun.

Oh, you have the PlayStation RX3 then. Good for you, very nice remixes, and the cinematic boss showoffs are kinda cool. X5 and X6 are a must. I haven't played anything beyond those 6. Have you played the first two?

Raizing's "B" series, Strikers 1945 stuff, and Thunder Dragon 2, shmupwise.

Anything else? Maybe I'll shut up Bloodreign and play Arkanoid. He's dying for scores it seems!

I've only got Rockman 4 & 5 (PS) and Rockman X3 (Saturn) at the moment. I'll probably play through all the 32-bit ones finally, although I heard X5 & X6 are to be avoided for some reason. Rockman 8, from the little I've played, seems to appeal to me the most. The most recent one I tried was Rockman X7 and it was a huge turd.

Oops. I forgot about the Sat X3. I thought only X4 and onward got anything beyond a PS port. As for X5 and X6, they are not to be missed, as they are more like X4 than any other game. X7 is not much like the others, but X8 is, moreso that X7 at least. As I said, I haven't touched X7 or X8, so unfortunately I cannot say anything more.

Except the fact that 8 is loads of fun and vastly underrated.

Shinobi III, Genesis
Got the one-credit earlier tonight with 9+ lives in stock. Kicking this game's ass made me realize how bad I was at games when I was a kid.

Muchi Muchi Pork! (Arcade)

Doesn't get much better than this one, especially compared to Yagawa's other games. I'm bugged by the gripes it gets about the art direction...it looks great, lots of detailed shit, nice enemy designs...it doesn't have you playing as airplanes like every other shooter since the dawn of creation and nerds complain. Criminey.

Anyways, this game is fun times and the best thing I've played in ages. I hope it never gets ported so that it remains a treasure enjoyed by only a fortunate few.

I just got this as well. Will crank it up (but I want to get 45 mil in Galuda w/ Tateha first... I don't think I have the precision to ge 50). I agree with you -- it's brilliant. Yagawa's best, by far.

Muchi Muchi Pork, JAMMA
Not mine, but Kaneda's. I admit that I had reservations about this game. I haven't been crazy about "new Cave", for the most part. So to find that Muchi Muchi Pork kicks ass was a boost, and I can't wait to play it again, perhaps this weekend.

What I like best about it is, for the first time, a Cave game really has "pick up and play" quality. Dai Ou Jou is a discipline; Progear has you scratching your head about how exactly you reel in those diamonds, etc, but Muchi is simple: get the gold as quickly as possible, and keep it. Survive. I saw some suicide BS in a superplay, but not enough to turn me off to the game as I was to Ibara by similar strategies.

And to top it off, the girls are really hot. Muchi Muchi Pork fuggin' rules.

Up'n Down (Sega 1984)

This one's really tough. I only managed to reach the 2nd stage so far and I played it for more than 2 hours yesterday (long for a game whose stages take only 20-30 seconds). Its one of the games coming on the Sega Memorial Selection Vol 1 disc for Sega Saturn and it's... well, dusty :D
Don't know if its very known, I did not know this one before tuesday when I got it.

To get technical, it's spaceships, not airplanes. Bah, details. Who needs em.

To evreyone:
please avoid Rockman X7
it's the worst game, mind you not only Rockman game, I've ever played
As a huge Rockman and Capcom fan, it was like a backstab from your best friend.

BTW, now enjoying:
-Gyakuten Saiban (DS)
-Panel de Pon! (DS)
-Sonic Wings 2 (NG)
-Metal Slug Complete (PS2)

Yeah, I bought Rockman X7 new when it came out, hoping to rekindle some old memories. Got to stage 2 or 3, took it out and sold it.

PC-engine Spriggan. Its strange, this game borrows a lot from Blazing Lazers/Gunhed. Sound effects and music too. But its got that BS death thing where one death can completely screw you.

Not so strange really, as both games were created by the same developer (Compile). ;)
