Tsuneki Ikeda, aka IKD: The team leader, known for his programming work on Dodonpachi, ESPRade, Guwange, and Progear no Arashi.
Junya Inoue, aka JokeR JUN: The designer, director, and voice director of ESPRade, Guwange, and Progear no Arashi. He is currently a manga artist.
Yasushi Imai, aka Yasu-kun: An employee of Cave, hired for the debugging of Guwange and Progear no Arashi. This self-described "ordinary person" is an all-around gamer and also Inoue-san's assistant.
PSYasu: A casual fan of games previously involved in the game-related doujin market, but currently taking a break. He was Chako's partner for her work on the ESPRade doujinshi.
Chako: The publisher of this book. An ordinary person who simply likes games. She has written doujinshi based on the RAY series as well as Cave STGs. Many of her recent works are collaborations with PSYasu.
[Starting with the Characters]
Chako: Then let us begin. Please tell us what position you had in the production of Guwange along with a self-introduction.
Inoue: Uh... Director. That's all.
Chako: No, no (laughs). What did you actually do?
IKD: General President Watcher (laughs).
Inoue: You were just watching? That would make you "General President Ikeda," yes? Okay, your title in kanji, mine in English (laughs).
Yasu: What's a General President?
IKD: Something like "one hundred million thousand yen."
(Everyone laughs.)
Inoue: Practically speaking, yes. Production, map design, enemy design, official illustrations... and other odds and ends.
PSY: You didn't do the main character designs?
Inoue: I touched up on them a little when moving them from illustrations. The person responsible for designing the characters was Wakabayashi-san1.
Chako: Was there anything special about the concept of the main characters?
Inoue: Shishin was based on the original Evangelion apparently. The first time I saw him I thought it was Voldo from Soul Edge. The way I pictured him was a little off, so I started drawing him with a slightly more protruding chest.
IKD: Eh? It's totally Eva. Voldo is the guy with the half-exposed legs who looks like Dio [from Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken], right?
PSY: Ah, Eva. I thought that's why he ate people.
Chako: What about Kosame?
Inoue: Rena Tanaka2. Wakabayashi-san really likes her. He had her as his wallpaper and screen saver.
Yasu: That's right. Kohyama-san's3 machine also has her on it.
IKD: Wait a sec. Kohyama-kun got that from Wakabayashi-kun... I really wanted it (laughs).
Chako: What about Gensuke?
Inoue: Ushiwakamaru4.
IKD: Around that time Gensuke wasn't the glasses dork, was he?
Inoue: What's that supposed to mean?! (laughs). I didn't change anything if that's what you're getting at.
IKD: No, not that you changed anything. But originally he was more like a Shota5, no?
Inoue: Hmm... Shota... Actually when I was looking through Takaratsuka something-or-other book I thought, "That's it!" Oh, Takaratsuka Shounen Kenshi was what it was called.
IKD: No clue what you're talking about (laughs). But, regardless of what you say, the pictures are still the proof. The characters turned out to be typical Inoue-style illustrations. I thought it was J-B all over again... approaching the line of not knowing whether he's a guy or a girl (laughs).

PSY: Actually if you said it was a female character, I'd probably believe you.
Chako: You don't think the close-up shots of Gensuke are kind of frightening? Maybe sly, even.
Inoue: Evil.
PSY: You mean that smirk that draws people in?
Inoue: Leaving the coloring to Nakamura-san6, he just got more and more villainous (laughs). If Guwange was Kimengumi7, he was definitely Gou. And the hairstyle is definitely Rizent (laughs).
IKD: Now that you mention it, isn't the opening demo a different actor? It seems off. It's actually a stuntman, right?
Inoue: He's a General President Watcher, so he was just watching (laughs).
IKD: I see. A watcher.
