Goodbye Soft [1/2] RPG Densetsu Pepoi: A game sponsored by Sega. After appearing in the new soft lineup, screens appeared at a game show. Soon after, all information disappeared. Explode Star: An action game with puzzle elements. Was completed and announced in magazines, but never released, although the Genesis version was. Omega Fighter: Port of UPL's arcade game. Was originally going to be published by Toreko, but eventually UPL entered the MegaDrive market, and reportedly took over. Unknown if that was simply a print error though. No screens of the MegaDrive version were released. Dennou Game Teki Paki: Port of the arcade title of the same name, by Toaplan. Game was completed, and flyers were even given out, but was eventually cancelled. Was due to come out at the same time as Slap Fight, published by Tengen, but due to management problems at Toaplan they couldn't release it. It's thought they searched for a publisher but simply could not find one. Tiger Road: Arcade Port of Tora he no Michi. Announced by Capcom at an early MegaDrive Third Party convention. After that, nothing. Pressure from Nintendo? Dynamite Dax: Port of Sega's arcade game. No images were ever released. Incidentally, a Master System port was released in the US and UK. Tetris: Was going to be developed by Sanritsu Denki, but eventually Nintendo held the copyright, so was never released. Blocks reported to be different from the arcade version. Eventually, the Sega logo was dropped and pirate versions made their way around. Devil Buster: A game that adopted the Megami Tensei style of play. At the time, was called Majin Tensei. A 2-player action game where characters were spirits with power suits. Players could choose 1 of 3 characters. Eventually, the power suits were dropped. Dragon Ninja: An arcade game by Data East. Was announced at some convention of thiers, and then never talked about again, despite the fact they released Midnight Resistance on the system. Ninja Gaiden: Port of Tecmo's arcade version of Ninja Gaiden, although it was arranged quite differently. All the way to the packaging barcode was set, and for some reason, was never released. Battle Smash: An action game by Kaneko in which the player-character takes on a giant monster in a tennis-style match. Beat Force: An overhead-view, 4-way action game by Sammy that was announced at Yuusei Sega World, but then never mentioned again. Phildeas: An action game where you choose 1 of 3 characters, and the story develops depending on which character. "Beep! Megadrive" had boss illustrations and whatnot, but no official screenshots were ever released. Coincidentally, the game is named after a continent within the game. Mina in Wonderland: A mini-game collection game that was apparently complete, and even had it's flyers passed out at a gameshow. Rumor has it though, that it was pretty poor, hence, unreleased. Mick & Mack: An action platformer or the Genesis in which you collected McDonald's logos. The Genesis version was also cancelled. Apparently this had something to do with McDonald's Treasure Island being released. Metal Lancer: A 3D shooting game Naka Yuji worked on in his seperate development divison after he was recognized for his work on the MD port of Daimakaimura. Apparently had a very cute girl as a character. Never made it into any release lists, but is included in the catalogue Mega Drive Daizen. Last Survivor: An arcade port of the same name. No MD screens were ever released, although there is a version on the FM-Towns, released by CRI (which later merged with AM2). Apparently the game design was inspired by the 3D dungeons in the Mark III's Phantasy Star. Road Buster: Was supposed to be Nippon Telnet's entry into the Mega Drive market; a vertically scrolling action game where the player controls a truck, much like their early game on the PC, American Truck.
